Fleet Strike
A naval guessing duel based on the classic pencil-and-paper game. Hide your ships, call your shots and sink the computer’s fleet before it finds yours.
How to play Fleet Strike
- Each side has five ships: a Carrier (5 squares), Cruiser (4), Destroyer (3), Frigate (3) and Patrol boat (2).
- Place your ships on your 10×10 grid, across or down. Ships may touch but can’t overlap. Use Random for an instant layout.
- Take turns firing at a square on the enemy grid. A dot marks a miss, a cross marks a hit. When every square of a ship is hit, it sinks and its name is crossed off.
- Sink all five enemy ships before the computer sinks yours to win.
- Optional rule: choose Hit = shoot again to keep firing after every hit (this applies to the computer too).
Controls
- Placing: pick a ship from the list, then tap the grid — or drag it into place. Rotate (or right-click, or R) turns it. Tap a placed ship to pick it up again.
- Battle: tap a square on the enemy grid to fire.
- Keyboard: arrow keys move the target, Enter places or fires, 1–5 pick a ship while placing.
Tips
- While searching, fire in a checkerboard pattern — every ship covers at least two squares, so you can skip half the grid.
- After a hit, try the four neighbouring squares. Once you have two hits in a line, keep going along that line.
- Don’t cluster all your ships in one corner, and don’t always line them up along the edges — the Hard computer looks for patterns of likely ship positions.
FAQ
Can ships touch each other?
Yes. Ships can sit side by side, they just can’t share a square. Touching ships can confuse an opponent who assumes hits belong to one ship.
Does the computer cheat?
No. It only knows what you would know: where it has fired, which shots hit, and which ships have been announced as sunk. Hard simply does better probability maths.
Is my battle saved?
Yes. Your fleet, the enemy fleet and every shot are stored on your device, so you can close the page and pick up where you left off.
