Ludo
A traditional race game from the Pachisi family. Bring your four tokens out of base, send them once around the board and up your coloured column to the centre before anyone else.
How to play Ludo
- Each player has four tokens waiting in their corner base. On your turn, roll the die and move one token that many squares clockwise.
- A token can only leave base on a roll of 6; it is placed on your coloured start square.
- Rolling a 6 earns another roll — but three 6s in a row cancel your turn.
- Land on a square holding an opponent's token to capture it: it goes back to its base, and you get an extra roll.
- Squares marked with a star (including every start square) are safe: tokens there cannot be captured.
- After nearly a full lap, a token turns into its own coloured home column. It needs an exact roll to reach the centre, and getting a token home earns an extra roll.
- The first player with all four tokens home wins.
Controls
- Tap the die or the Roll button (or press Space). Then tap a glowing token to move it — or press 1–4.
- If only one move is possible it is made for you.
- Use Players… to set each seat to Human, Computer or Off.
Tips
- Spread your risk: a token sitting just ahead of an opponent is easy prey, so move it on or park it on a star.
- Bringing a new token out with a 6 is often better than nudging a front-runner, because more tokens on the board give you more choices later.
- Tokens in your home column are completely safe, so there is no hurry to finish them.
FAQ
Can I play with friends on one device?
Yes. Open Players…, set two or more seats to Human and pass the device around; the banner always shows whose turn it is.
Do I need an exact roll to finish?
Yes. A token in the home column only moves if the roll does not carry it past the centre. If no token can use the roll, the turn passes.
