Tabletop Shuffleboard Game
Classic tabletop shuffleboard, seen from above. Slide your four pucks down the long table, land them deep in the scoring zones, and use your shots to knock the computer’s pucks into the gutter.
How to play Tabletop Shuffleboard Game
- You (red) and the computer (blue) each have four pucks per round and take turns sliding them from the near end of the table toward the far end.
- A puck that stops short of the dashed foul line, or slides off the end or into a side gutter, is removed.
- When all eight pucks have been played, only the player with the puck furthest down the table scores. They score every one of their pucks that is further than the opponent’s best puck.
- A puck is worth 1, 2 or 3 points by zone. It must be completely past a line to count for the higher zone; touching the line scores the lower value. A puck hanging over the far edge is a hanger and scores 4.
- The player who scores in a round shoots first in the next one, which gives the other player the last shot (the hammer). If nobody scores, the order stays the same.
- The first player to reach 15 points (or 21, if you choose) wins.
Controls
- Mouse or touch: press where you want to place your puck along the near end, pull back toward yourself to set the power, move sideways to angle the shot, then release.
- Keyboard: A/D move the puck, Left/Right angle it, Up/Down set the power (Shift for fine steps), Space or Enter shoots. P or Esc pauses.
Tips
- With the hammer, wait: your last puck can knock the leader off or slide past it.
- Without the hammer, a puck in the 2 zone is often safer than one in the 3 zone, which is easy to knock off the end.
- Guard a good puck by parking another one in front of it on the same line.
- On Easy, the dotted ring shows where your puck would stop on an empty table.
FAQ
What are the rules of tabletop shuffleboard?
Players alternate sliding four pucks each toward the far end. After all eight are played, only the player with the furthest puck scores: 1, 2 or 3 points per puck by zone, 4 for a puck hanging over the edge, counting each puck further than the opponent’s best.
How do you score a 4 in shuffleboard?
Leave a puck hanging over the far end of the table without falling off. That “hanger” is worth 4 points.
What is the hammer?
The last shot of a round. It is a big advantage because nobody can answer it, so the player who scored in the previous round must shoot first.
What happens if a puck touches a line?
It counts for the lower zone. A puck has to be completely past a line to score the higher value.
Can I play to 21?
Yes. Pick “Play to 21” in the toolbar for a longer match. Your game is saved after every shot, so you can finish it later.
