Basketball Shooting Game
A side-on basketball shooting game for quick breaks. Pull back like a slingshot, let it fly, and watch the ball kiss the backboard, roll the rim or drop straight through the net. Race the clock from all over the court or settle in at the free-throw line.
How to play Basketball Shooting Game
- Press anywhere on the court and drag down and to the left, away from the hoop. The further you pull, the harder the shot; the direction of the pull sets the angle.
- Release to shoot. A basket counts when the ball drops down through the rim. It can bounce off the backboard or the rim on the way in.
- 60-second mode: each new ball appears at a different spot. Baskets from behind the dashed line are worth 3 points, closer ones 2. A clean swish that touches nothing adds a bonus point.
- Make three in a row and you are on a roll: every basket in the run adds one extra point until you miss.
- Reach 30 points and the hoop starts gliding up and down, so time your release.
- Free throws: ten shots from the free-throw line, one point each. Try to go ten for ten.
Controls
- Touch or mouse: drag back from anywhere and release to shoot.
- Keyboard: Up/Down arrows change the angle, Left/Right change the power, Space or Enter shoots. P or Esc pauses.
Tips
- A high arc gives the ball a bigger target: steep shots drop through the rim instead of glancing off the front.
- Banking off the backboard is easier from the right side of the court, close to the hoop.
- Turn the aim guide off once you have a feel for the power, it is more fun when every shot is a judgement call.
- In the 60-second mode you can shoot again before the last ball lands, so keep a rhythm going.
FAQ
How do you play the basketball shooting game?
Drag back from anywhere on the court to set the power and angle, then let go to shoot. Score as many baskets as you can before the 60-second clock runs out, or try the ten-shot free-throw round.
How is the score counted?
In the timed mode a basket is worth 2 points, or 3 from behind the dashed line. A swish that touches neither rim nor backboard adds 1 bonus point, and each basket during a run of three or more in a row adds 1 more.
What is a swish?
A shot that falls through the hoop without touching the rim or the backboard.
Why does the hoop start moving?
Once you pass 30 points in the timed mode, the hoop glides up and down to make the second half of a good round tougher.
Is my game saved?
