Tank Game: Artillery Battle
A turn-based tanks game of angle, power and wind. Take turns with the computer lobbing shells across the hills; every blast digs a crater, so the battlefield changes with each shot.
How to play Tank Battle
- You control the blue tank on the left and the computer controls the red tank on the right. Each tank starts with 100 health.
- On your turn set the barrel angle and the shot power, choose a weapon and press Fire. Then the computer takes its shot.
- Shells fly in an arc and are pushed by the wind, shown at the top. The wind changes every turn, so adjust your aim.
- A shell explodes where it lands. Tanks inside the blast lose health, more the closer they are, and a direct hit does extra damage. Explosions dig craters, and a tank that drops a long way into one takes a little damage.
- Weapons: the Shell never runs out. The Heavy shell has a bigger blast, the Triple shot fires three small shells in a spread, and the Dirt mover piles up a hill you can hide behind.
- Bring the enemy tank to zero health to win the battle.
Controls
- Touch or mouse: press and drag from your tank toward where you want to shoot. The direction sets the angle and the drag length sets the power. Then tap Fire.
- The − and + buttons fine-tune angle and power; hold them to change faster.
- Keyboard: Left/Right turn the barrel, Up/Down change the power (Shift for single steps), 1–4 pick a weapon, Space fires.
Tips
- Watch where your first shot lands and change only one thing at a time, angle or power, to walk your shots onto the target.
- A high, lobbing angle clears hills but drifts more in the wind. A flat shot is faster but needs a clear line.
- Save the Heavy shell for when you know your range; a near miss with it still does real damage.
- If the computer has your range, use the Dirt mover to build a wall in front of you.
FAQ
How do you play this tank game?
Players take turns firing. Set the angle and power of your barrel, allow for the wind, and fire. Shells explode where they land, damaging any tank in the blast. Destroy the other tank to win.
How does wind affect my shots?
A wind arrow pointing right pushes your shell to the right the whole time it is in the air. Stronger wind and longer, higher shots drift more. It changes every turn.
Can the ground be destroyed?
Yes. Every explosion digs a crater. Tanks sink into the hole and take a small amount of damage if they fall far.
How hard is the computer?
On Easy it misses often, on Normal it gets close within a few shots, and on Hard it is very accurate. It plays with the same wind and rules as you.
Is my battle saved?
Yes. A battle in progress resumes when you come back, and your win and loss record is kept in this browser.
