Star Defender — Space Shooter
Hold the line against wave after wave of geometric raiders. Your ship fires automatically, so all you have to do is steer, dodge and collect upgrades, then survive the mothership.
How to play Star Defender
- Your ship fires constantly. Move it around the lower part of the screen to aim and to dodge enemy shots.
- Each wave brings a new formation: green drones that sway in rows, yellow darts that swoop across, red orbs that aim at you and purple heavies that take several hits.
- Enemies in formation sometimes break away and dive at you. Shooting a diving enemy is worth double points.
- Every fifth wave a mothership appears. Watch its health bar; at half health it gets angry and fills the screen with spirals.
- Getting hit costs a ship and one level of weapon power. Lose every ship and the game is over.
Controls
- Touch: drag anywhere — the ship follows your finger’s movement, so your thumb never covers it.
- Mouse: move the pointer and the ship flies to it.
- Keyboard: arrow keys or W A S D to fly. P or Esc pauses.
Tips
- Power-ups: P adds a stronger spread shot (up to MAX), R is rapid fire for a few seconds, S is a shield that absorbs one hit, and ♥ is an extra ship.
- Small, steady movements beat big swerves; most shots can be dodged by shifting a ship’s width.
- Clear the orbs first. They aim right at you, while drones mostly fire straight down.
FAQ
Do I need to press a fire button?
No. Your ship fires automatically the whole time, which makes the game easy to play with one thumb on a phone.
How often do bosses appear?
Every fifth wave. Each boss is tougher than the last, and beating one drops guaranteed power-ups.
