Paper Toss
The office-break classic: paper toss. Swipe a crumpled paper ball toward the bin, read the wind from the fan and aim off to the side so it drifts in. One miss ends the streak.
How to play Paper Toss
- Swipe (or drag with the mouse) upward from anywhere on the screen to throw. The direction of your swipe sets the aim; every throw has the same lob, so only direction matters.
- A desk fan blows across the room. The wind gauge in the corner shows its strength and direction, and the ball drifts with it the whole way to the bin.
- Aim upwind to compensate: if the wind blows right, swipe a little to the left, and the stronger the wind, the further off-centre you aim.
- A ball that drops cleanly into the bin is a Swish. Clip the inside of the rim and it can still rattle in. Clip the outside and it bounces away.
- Each basket adds one to your streak and the wind changes for the next throw, getting stronger as the streak grows. A single miss ends the game.
- Choose how far away the bin sits: the close desk, across the room, or the far corner. Longer throws spend more time in the wind.
Controls
- Touch or mouse: swipe or drag upward and release to throw.
- Keyboard: Left/Right arrows aim (hold Shift for fine aim), Space or Enter throws. P or Esc pauses.
Tips
- Learn one reference: note how far off-centre you aimed for a wind of about 1.0, then scale that up for stronger winds.
- Short, deliberate swipes are more accurate than fast flicks, because only the direction counts.
- The far corner doubles the drift of the close desk, so start close while you learn the wind.
- On a calm throw, aim straight at the middle of the bin.
FAQ
How do you play paper toss?
Swipe upward toward the bin to throw a crumpled paper ball. Watch the fan’s wind gauge and aim to the opposite side so the wind carries the ball into the bin. Keep scoring to grow your streak.
How does the wind work?
The number is how hard the fan pushes the ball sideways, and the arrow shows which way. The ball drifts more the longer it is in the air, so far throws need more aim-off than close ones.
Does throwing harder help?
No. Every throw uses the same arc that reaches the bin, so the only thing you control is direction. That keeps the game about reading the wind.
What is a swish?
A ball that falls straight into the bin without touching the rim.
