How to play Printable Word Search Puzzles
- Choose a theme and a difficulty, then press New puzzles to build fresh word searches.
- The sheet shows a letter grid and a checkbox word list, with a name and date line at the top.
- Press Print puzzles for the worksheets, or Print both to add a separate answer key page after them.
- Choose Show answers to preview the solved grid on screen before you print it.
- Need a different puzzle? Press New puzzles as many times as you like; there is no limit and no sign-up.
Controls
- Theme picks the topic, or choose Mixed themes for a surprise.
- Difficulty sets the grid size and which directions words can run: Easy 10×10, Medium 12×12, Hard 14×14, Expert 18×18, Extreme 22×22.
- Puzzles per set builds up to eight different puzzles at once, each on its own page.
- Large print makes the word list and letters bigger for easier reading.
- Print puzzles, Print answer key or Print both open your browser’s print dialog; pick “Save as PDF” as the destination to download a PDF.
Tips
- Pick Easy for young solvers (words run only across and down) and Hard or Expert for a challenge.
- Print a set of four to eight different puzzles at once for a classroom or a party.
- Use “Print both” to keep the answer key for later or hand it to the teacher.

How do I save a word search as a PDF?
Press Print puzzles, then in the print dialog choose Save as PDF as the printer. The file keeps the grid and word list on a clean page.
Does the printout include an answer key?
Yes. Print answer key prints solved grids with the hidden words highlighted and a row-and-column list of where each word starts. Print both puts the key after the puzzles.
Is every puzzle different?
Yes. Each grid is generated on the spot with a random selection of words, so you will not get the same sheet twice.
Can I use these in class or for a party?
Yes. Printing for personal, classroom and party use is fine. Please do not resell the sheets.
Is it free, and do I need to sign up?
It is free with no account, no email and no limit. Puzzles are built in your browser and printed with its own print dialog, so nothing is uploaded and no file is sent to us.
What topics can I print?
