Word Jumble
Five jumbled words a day, from a quick four-letter warm-up to a tricky eight-letter finale. Put the letters back in order, keep your streak going, and switch to practice for unlimited jumbled words to solve.
How to play Word Jumble
- Each set has five words whose letters have been mixed up. Your job is to put the letters back in the right order.
- Tap the letter tiles in order to spell the word in the answer slots. When every slot is full, your answer is checked automatically.
- Made a mistake? Tap a letter in the answer row to send it back, or press Clear. Shuffle mixes the tiles into a new order, which often makes the word pop out.
- If a different real word uses the very same letters, it counts too.
- Stuck? Hint reveals the next letter of the word (it costs a few points), and Skip word shows the answer and moves on.
- The daily jumble is the same for everyone and unlocks at midnight. Practice mode gives you unlimited sets at Easy, Medium or Hard.
Controls
- Tap or click letter tiles to place them; tap a placed letter to remove it.
- Keyboard: type letters, Backspace removes the last one, Enter checks, Space shuffles, ↑ ↓ switch between words.
- Tap any word in the list to work on it next.
Tips
- Look for common letter pairs such as TH, CH, SH, ER, ING and -TION, and try them at the start or end of the word.
- Place vowels between consonant clusters: most English words alternate between the two.
- Shuffle a few times. Seeing letters in a new order is the fastest way to break a mental block.
- Solve the short words first; they build momentum for the long ones.
FAQ
How do you play word jumble?
You are given a word with its letters mixed up, and you rearrange them to find the original word. Here you get five jumbled words per set: tap or type the letters in the right order to solve each one.
Is there a new word jumble today?
Yes. A new daily set of five jumbled words unlocks every day at midnight in your local time, and everyone plays the same words. Solve all five to grow your daily streak.
How is the score calculated?
Each solved word is worth 10 points per letter, minus 8 points for every hint you used on it. Solving all five adds a speed bonus, and a set solved without any hints earns 50 extra points.
What if I find a different word with the same letters?
If your answer uses exactly the same letters and is a real word, it is accepted, even if we had a different word in mind.
Can I play more than one jumble a day?
Yes. Switch the mode to Practice for unlimited jumbled words at three difficulty levels. Practice games do not affect your daily streak.
