Word Maze Puzzles
A word maze hides a single winding path through a grid of letters. Start in the corner, step from square to square, and spell the listed words one after another until you reach the finish. Watch out: nearby letters are there to lead you astray.
How to play Word Maze Puzzles
- The path starts on the square marked START and ends on the square marked FINISH.
- Move one square at a time: up, down, left or right, never diagonally, and never through the same square twice.
- The letters along your path must spell the listed words, one straight after the other, with no gaps.
- Tap or drag through the squares to draw your path. Tap any square already on the path to cut it back to there, or use Undo step.
- Easy (6×6) colors your path green while it is right and red once it goes wrong. Medium (7×7) gives no colors. Hard (8×8) lists the words in a jumbled order, so you must also work out which comes next.
Controls
- Tap squares one by one, or drag your finger or mouse along the path.
- Keyboard: arrow keys move the end of your path, Backspace steps back.
- Print opens a printable copy of the current maze to solve with a pencil.
Tips
- Look ahead: when two neighbors share the next letter, check which one also leads to the letter after that.
- Work backwards from FINISH too. The last word must end there, which often rules out a tempting branch.
- Long words are easier to trace than short ones. Find them first and the short gaps fill themselves.
