How to play Poker Dice Game
- Each round, every player takes one turn with five dice and up to three rolls.
- After a roll, tap dice to hold them, then roll the rest again. You can stop early with Keep this hand.
- Your final dice make a poker hand. From best to worst: Five of a kind, Four of a kind, Full house (three plus a pair), Straight (1–5 or 2–6), Three of a kind, Two pair, One pair and High card.
- The best hand wins the round. Equal hands are decided by the higher dice in the most important group first (three 5s beat three 4s), then by the remaining dice; a perfect tie shares the round.

Tips
- With a pair, hold it and roll three dice: you have a good chance of three of a kind or better over two rolls.
- Holding two pair and rolling the fifth die gives a 1 in 3 chance of a full house each roll.
- Four different dice in a row (like 2-3-4-5) is a strong straight draw — two outs on each roll.
- If you go last, you know the hand to beat: stop as soon as you have beaten it.
FAQ
How do you play poker dice?
Roll five dice, hold any you want to keep, and reroll the rest up to two more times. Your final five dice form a poker-style hand, and the best hand around the table wins the round.
What beats what in poker dice?
Five of a kind is best, then four of a kind, full house, straight, three of a kind, two pair, one pair and high card. Between equal hands, higher numbers win, so a full house of 6s over 2s beats 5s over 4s.
Is a straight better than three of a kind?
Yes. In our rules a straight (1-2-3-4-5 or 2-3-4-5-6) ranks above three of a kind and below a full house. The 2–6 straight beats the 1–5 straight.
Is there betting?
No. This is poker dice purely as a dice game: you play for round wins and bragging rights only, with no chips, stakes or wagers.
How is poker dice different from other five-dice games?
There is no scorecard to fill. Each round is a single hand, and you only need to beat the other players’ hands that round.
