Pyramid Solitaire
A quick-thinking patience game of simple sums: remove pairs of cards worth 13 until the pyramid of 28 cards is gone.
How to play Pyramid Solitaire
- Twenty-eight cards form a pyramid of seven rows. The remaining 24 cards make the stock, below it.
- Card values: Ace = 1, number cards are worth their number, Jack = 11, Queen = 12, King = 13.
- Remove any two available cards that add up to 13 — for example 6 + 7, 4 + 9 or Queen + Ace. A King is removed on its own.
- A pyramid card is available only when no cards overlap it from the row below. The top card of the waste pile is always available.
- Tap the stock to turn one card onto the waste. When the stock runs out you may turn the waste back over twice.
- Clear every card from the pyramid to win. Scoring: 10 points per pair, 5 per King, 25 for each row you finish and 250 for clearing the pyramid.
Controls
- Tap one card, then tap its partner to remove the pair. Tap a King to remove it at once.
- You can also drag a card onto its partner.
- Keyboard: Space or D draws, U or Ctrl+Z undoes, H shows a hint, Esc clears your selection.
Tips
- Work on the pyramid evenly: a card buried deep on one side can leave you stranded later.
- When two different cards could pair with the same card, pick the one that uncovers more of the pyramid.
- Keep track of which values are still in the stock — there are only four of each.
FAQ
Can every deal be cleared?
No — many random pyramids are impossible. With Winnable deals chosen (the default) you only get deals our solver has already cleared, so a win is always within reach.
Do I need to use up the stock to win?
No. Clearing the 28 pyramid cards is enough; leftover stock cards do not matter.
