Play Vegas Solitaire
Vegas Solitaire is classic Klondike with the famous Las Vegas scoring: you start every deal at −52 points and earn 5 points for each card you send to a foundation, with only a limited number of trips through the stock. It is points only — just a tougher, scorekeeping way to play solitaire Vegas style.
How to play Play Vegas Solitaire
- The layout is the same as Klondike: seven columns with the top card face up, four foundations, and the rest of the deck in the stock.
- Build the columns down in alternating colours (a red 8 on a black 9) and move ordered groups as one. Only a King, or a group led by a King, may go into an empty column.
- Build each foundation up in one suit from Ace to King.
- Scoring: every deal starts at −52. Each card placed on a foundation is worth +5, and a card taken back off a foundation loses those 5 again. Clearing all 52 cards finishes on +208.
- Passes: in Draw 1 you may go through the stock only once. In Draw 3 you get three passes. When the passes run out, the stock slot shows ✕.
- Cumulative mode keeps a running total across games: each finished deal adds its points (good or bad) to the total, Vegas style. Choose Single game to score each deal on its own.
Controls
- Drag a card or group to another pile, or tap it to send it to the best legal spot. Double-tap sends a card straight to its foundation.
- Tap the stock to turn cards; tap the empty stock slot to start the next pass while one is left.
- Keyboard: Space or D draws, U or Ctrl+Z undoes, H shows a hint, A auto-finishes, N starts a new game. Arrow keys move between cards and Enter plays the focused one.
Tips
- Because the stock is limited, every card you skip may be gone for good. In Draw 1, look at each card carefully before turning the next.
- Send cards to the foundations early — every card is 5 points, and you do not get a second chance through the stock.
- Eleven cards on the foundations (+55) is break-even. Anything more puts you in the plus.
- Turning over face-down cards in the long columns is still the key to bigger scores.
FAQ
How does Vegas solitaire scoring work?
You begin each deal at −52 points (one point for every card in the deck) and earn +5 for every card moved to a foundation. A full clear is 52 × 5 − 52 = +208 points. Taking a card back off a foundation removes its 5 points.
How many times can you go through the deck in Vegas solitaire?
With Draw 1 you get a single pass through the stock. With Draw 3 you get three passes. After that the stock cannot be turned over again.
What is cumulative Vegas scoring?
In cumulative mode the points from every finished game are added to a running total, so a good deal can make up for a bad one. Use Reset total to start the tally again.
Is Las Vegas Solitaire gambling?
No. Here it is only a scoring system — there are no bets, coins, purchases or prizes. You play purely for points and personal bests.
What counts as a win?
Clearing all four foundations is a full win. Your stats also count any game that finishes above zero points as a win, since you beat the −52 starting score.
