Typing Defense
Words rain down on your base and only your keyboard can stop them. Type each one before it lands — every wave is faster, and the short words soon give way to long ones.
How to play Typing Defense
- Words drift down from the top of the screen toward the dashed base line.
- Type the first letter of a word to lock on to it. If several words start with that letter, you lock onto the one closest to the base.
- Finish typing the locked word to destroy it. You stay locked on until it is gone, so finish what you start.
- Clearing words in a row builds your combo. Every five in a row raises your score multiplier, up to ×5. A wrong key resets the combo.
- Each word that reaches the base costs one of your five shields. Lose them all and the game is over.
- Clear every word in a wave to start the next one. Later waves move faster and use longer, trickier words.
Controls
- Letter keys — type words (on a phone, tap the game to open the keyboard)
- Enter or tap — start / play again
- Esc or the Pause button — pause and resume
Tips
- Go for the lowest word first; the lock-on already does this for you when letters are shared.
- Long words score more points, but don’t let a short one slip past while you work on them.
- Accuracy protects your combo, and the combo multiplier is where the big scores come from.
FAQ
What happens if I press the wrong key?
Nothing is lost except your combo: the locked word stays where it is and you keep typing from the next correct letter.
Why did the game pause by itself?
If the game loses keyboard focus — for example the phone keyboard closes or you click elsewhere — it pauses so words don’t land while you can’t type. Tap the game to carry on.
