Color Match Game
A fast color matching game that tests focus. The word says one color, the ink shows another, and your brain wants to read the word. Answer as many as you can in 60 seconds and build a streak to multiply your points.
How to play Color Match Game
- Press Start. A color word such as RED appears, printed in colored ink.
- Match or not? Decide whether the word names its own ink color. Tap Yes if it does, No if it doesn’t.
- Name the ink: ignore what the word says and pick the color of the ink from four buttons. The word is usually a decoy.
- Each right answer scores 10 points times your multiplier. Every five right in a row raises the multiplier, up to ×4. A wrong answer resets it to ×1.
- You have 60 seconds. Your score, accuracy, average answer time and longest streak are shown at the end, and your best score in each mode is saved.
Controls

Tips
- Blur your focus a little and look at the color of the letters rather than their shape. It makes the word harder to read.
- Speed matters, but a wrong answer costs your multiplier. Steady and accurate usually beats rushing.
- In Name the ink, the word is rarely the answer, so be extra careful when the word is one of the choices.
FAQ
Why is this color game so tricky?
Reading is automatic for most adults, so the meaning of a word jumps out before you notice its color. Ignoring the word and focusing on the ink takes deliberate effort. Psychologists call this the Stroop effect.
How is the score worked out?
Each right answer is worth 10 points multiplied by your current multiplier: ×1 at the start, ×2 after five right in a row, ×3 after ten and ×4 after fifteen. A mistake drops you back to ×1.
What is a good score?
Around 300 points in Match or not? is a solid first round. Players who stay accurate and keep a ×4 multiplier can score well over 1,000.
Is there a version where I match shades of color?
Yes. Try Match the Color, where you mix a color with hue, saturation and lightness sliders to match a target.
