Rock Paper Scissors Plus (5 Moves)
A bigger version of rock paper scissors with two extra moves, Water and Vine. Every move beats two others and loses to the other two, so draws are rarer and guessing is harder.
How to play Rock Paper Scissors Plus
- Choose one of five moves. The computer chooses at the same time, then both are revealed.
- The classic three still work as usual: rock crushes scissors, scissors cut paper, paper covers rock.
- Water wears down rock and rusts scissors, but paper soaks it up and vine drinks it up.
- Vine drinks up water and wraps up paper, but rock flattens it and scissors snip it.
- Play a single round or a best of 3, 5 or 7. Draws do not count toward the match.
Controls
- Tap or click a move button.
- Keyboard: number keys 1, 2, 3… or the first letter of a move (R, P, S…). Enter starts a new match when one ends.
Tips
- With five moves, a draw only happens one time in five against a random pick, so matches move quickly.
- Every move has exactly two counters. Pick the counter that also beats your opponent's second favorite move.
- The full list of who beats whom is shown below the buttons whenever you need a reminder.
FAQ
What are the rules of 5-move rock paper scissors?
Each move beats two and loses to two: rock beats scissors and vine, paper beats rock and water, scissors beat paper and vine, water beats rock and scissors, and vine beats water and paper. Matching moves draw.
Is the five-move version balanced?
Yes. Each of the five moves beats exactly two moves and loses to exactly two, so no move is stronger than another.
Why Water and Vine?
We wanted two additions that fit the natural feel of rock, paper and scissors and give each match-up an easy-to-remember reason.
Does the smart bot work here too?
Yes. It learns from your picks in this version separately from the classic game.
