Hex Stack Sort
A calm, satisfying sorting puzzle on a honeycomb board. Drop stacks of coloured hex tiles, watch matching colours slide together, and clear tall towers of a single colour before the board fills up.
How to play Hex Stack Sort
- Three stacks of coloured hex tiles wait below the board. Tap one, then tap an empty cell to place it.
- When the top colour of the new stack matches the top colour of a neighbouring stack, those top tiles slide across and join it. The chain continues as new tops are revealed.
- When 10 or more tiles of one colour sit on top of a stack, they clear and score.
- Clear enough tiles to reach the level goal. Each level starts a fresh board and may add a new colour.
- You get three new stacks once all three are placed. The game ends when every cell is full.
Controls
- Tap a stack, then an empty cell
- 1–3: choose a stack Esc: cancel
Tips
- Place a stack next to as many matching top colours as you can — one move can pull in several runs at once.
- Keep a couple of cells free; a full board ends the game even if a big clear was one move away.
- Group colours in different areas of the board so they do not block each other.
- The number on each stack shows how many tiles of the top colour it has; the small number above shows its height.
FAQ
How do you play a hex sort puzzle?
Place stacks of hexagon tiles on the board. Matching top colours on neighbouring cells merge into one stack, and once a stack has ten tiles of the same colour on top they disappear and score.
When does the game end?
When all nineteen cells are filled and nothing more can clear. Reach each level’s goal first to move on to a fresh board.
Do I have to place the stacks in order?
No. Pick any of the three stacks in any order. New stacks appear only after all three are on the board, so plan where each one will go.
Is my game saved?
Yes. Your board, stacks, level and score are saved in this browser automatically.
