Minesweeper
Uncover every square that does not hide a mine. Each number tells you how many mines touch that square — use them to work out where it is safe to dig.
How to play Minesweeper
- Tap or click a square to dig. Your first dig is always safe and opens up an area of the field.
- A number shows how many of the eight surrounding squares contain a mine. A blank square has none, so its neighbours open automatically.
- Mark squares you know are mines with a flag: right-click, long-press, or switch the tap action to ⚑ Flag.
- Tap a number whose mines are all flagged to open all of its other neighbours at once (chording).
- Open every safe square to win. Dig up a mine and the round is over.

Tips
- A 1 touching only one hidden square means that square is a mine.
- Look for the 1-2-1 and 1-2-2-1 patterns along straight edges — they pin mines down without guessing.
- With No-guess on, every board can be cleared by logic alone, so if you feel stuck there is always a safe move somewhere.
- On a phone, the ⚑ Flag toggle is the quickest way to mark many mines in a row.
FAQ
What are no-guess boards?
Before you play, our solver checks that the whole board can be cleared from your first square using logic only. If not, a new layout is made — so luck never decides the game.
How does the daily board work?
Everyone gets the same 16×16 board with 40 mines each day, already opened at the same starting point. Clear it to build your streak.
Are best times kept per level?
Yes, your fastest clear is saved separately for Beginner, Intermediate, Expert and each custom size, on this device only.
